Employee of the month
This project is a speculative scenario which involves the crows on platforms across the Netherlands being trained to help to keep the stations cleaner of the cigarettes butts.
This project was part of a collaboration with NS, Naturalis institut and the Design Academy to raise awarness of the
Biodiversity of the stations and its protection. Crows are what we call pest animals, but they are extremly intelligence birds and are an essential asset to the biodiversity of european countries.
Applying the pavlovian conditioning to a natural extremly social animal would allowed the crows could be trained to part of the NS team and therefore protecting this species as a asset for the human view of biodiversity.
The experience is critique of the man made nature where following the rule of human, some animal can loose it essential role amount the biodiveristy but also would need to prove it role as a useful tool for clean and safe made nature.
