Alix Bizet studio exploration always starts with material and in-depth research through experimentation, collaboration and in situ research on where this material is from, its physicality, its origin, its composition. But also in a broader sense as what does a material conveys about the society we live in and what this material means for various communities with different beliefs, heritages, cultures and rituals.
By looking at the different stories behind materiality, we can investigate larger topics and bring lights to the need for diversity and different narratives to broaden our views and preconceived ideas about our relationship to our bodies, environment but also with each other.
By using existing crafts and low tech techniques while collaborating closely with diverse communities, our studio offers new insights and potential application to feel, reflect and interact with our body materiality but also with the world we live in, pushing boundaries and allowing space for everyone to relate to.
